Burundi vs South Sudan, Lugogo
Uganda Cranes want to complete a double over Somalia when the two countries clash this Saturday at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo in the return leg of the CHAN 2020 qualifiers.
Uganda leads 3-1 from the first leg in Djibouti a week ago -with goals from Patrick Kaddu (P), Mustafa Kizza and Tadeo Lwanga.
However, play maker Sadam Juma believes it is not over yet despite the 2-goal advantage. The KCCA FC player, who started on the bench last Saturday, says that they want to win the return leg even more convincingly. “We can only promise our fans victory but we cannot underrate Somalia despite the 2-goal advantage. Everyone is ready,” noted Juma after the Thursday morning training.
Goal keeper Yasin Mugabi returns but midfielder Tadeo Lwanga and center back Timothy Awany are out of the contest as they went to finalise their professional moves to Egypt and Israel respectively.
Despite starting on the bench in first leg, Proline FC’s defender Mustapha Mujjuzi will captain the side this weekend while Juma could come in the starting XI for Tadeo.
Uganda needs to avoid a 2-goal defeat this Saturday to progress to the next round where they face either Burundi or South Sudan that are playing this Sunday at Lugogo for a visa to the 2020 finals in Cameroon.
