CAF Confederations Cup
Preliminary Round, First Leg
Proline 3-0 Masters Security (Agg 3-0)
Striker Ivan Bogere continued with his goal scoring form by registering a remarkable continental debut after bagging a hat trick as Proline beat Masters Security FC from Malawi 3-0 in the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round, first leg last Saturday at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
The last season FUFA Big league top scorer opened the scoring in the 17th minute finishing off Nordin Bunjo’s lovely assist.
He pounced on Ibrahim Ssendi’s ball for his second in the 56th minute before completing his hat trick in the last minutes of the game.
Proline Coach Shafik Bisaso hailed his charges for the perfect win but warned it was not over yet. “I think it is a result of hard work and I thank the management for facilitating us to play in the 2019 Cecafa Kagame Cup. We were better than them in all aspects and I am confident we shall progress after the return leg although there will be no room for complacency,” noted Bisaso.
It was Proline’s first game at the continent and the reining Stanbic Uganda Cup champions will carry a 3-0 advantage into the second leg in Blantyre next Friday.
