Standard Chartered Bank-Uganda has injected Shs5m into this year’s Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) Road Safety Campaign.
It is the 12th year running that Standard Chartered bank bankrolls the campaign which intends to promote road safety to reduce on the road cannery.
This year’s USPA road safety campaign activities will include face-lifting accident causality ward of one of the major hospitals in the country before climax on Saturday, August 24 in Lugazi.
“We are grateful for the partnership as we strive to reduce on the road cannery. this is part of our corporate social responsibility,” Edward Barlow, the Head Operational Risk at Standard Chartered Bank on Monday as the bank unveiled their sponsorship to USPA at their head offices in Kampala.
USPA President Patrick Kanyomozi said that this is one of the most important activities on the association’s activity calendar, saying that sensitization is key in curbing the problem.
Last year, the bank partnered with USPA to conduct a blood donation drive that collected 1,000 pints of blood in a spun of just 5 days for Nakasero Blood Transfusion services.
