Mbarara district will host the 4th edition of the Sseninde Women Development Cup due this Saturday 24th August, 2019 at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.
The tournament was started to give girls at the grass an opportunity to play football and showcase their talents. Unlike the previous seasons, this year, winners and participants will get prizes like medals, trophies and a bursary for the Most valuable player (MVP).
The event will have FIFA chief Women football officer Sarai Bareman as the guest of honor.
She will be accompanied by Safia Abdel Dayem the Head of women’s football in Africa, Minister of youths and sports in Nigeria Solomon Dalung, and Dominica.
Tournament founder Jean Sseninde said that the FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, State Minister for Sports Hon. Charles Bakabulindi and other invited guests will be in attendance at the one-day event.
Over eight teams grouped into two groups will compete to dethrone defending Champions Talented platform FC.
Group A: Youth Sports, Uganda St.Mary’s, Vocational Shimoni, Mbarara Junior
Group B: Kisoro Junior, Mbarara Soccer Academy, Kira Girls Soccer Academy, Kinondoni
