The wait for the Pepsi University Football League (UFL) return is over after the draws for the quarter finals taking place on Tuesday at Kati Kati restaurant, Lugogo.

The coaches are eager to see their charges back on the field while the campus babes have the boredom solved with the freely accessed matches. Kyambogo University coach Deo Sserwadda believes the teams have prepared and reorganized well during the Pepsi University football league (UFL) break.

The UFL that took a break in May returns next week and the unbeaten defending champions Kyambogo will face Bugema University – a side they whipped 3-0 on aggregate at last season’s semi finals to storm the final where they beat Kampala University for their maiden title. Despite wining home and away last season, Sserwaddwa believes that it will not be easy against their opponents.

The 2019 UFL quarter final draws were held on Tuesday

“We beat them last year but I believe they have reorganized and prepared well. Six players of those who played against them left after completion of their studies. However, I am confident we can deliver,” noted a so much reserved Sserwaddwa.

In the same way, MUBS Coach Charles Ayiekoh will hope to negotiate past tricky Uganda Martyrs University (UMU), Nkozi.

The sides have met twice at the final and each wining once with two-time champions MUBS wining 4-0 in 2015 before losing 2-0 in 2017.

Anthony Tumwesigye, the UFL manager said that quarter finals will be played on a home and away basis and the teams that led their respective groups will be on the road before hosting the return legs.
