Midfielder Rogers Lukwiya and Romeo Sempira have joined Chinese lower-tier side Guiyang Hongrun Huagong FC.
Lukwiya, formerly at KCCA FC, Soana together with Sempira, who passed through Friends of football academy and Jogoo Young, joined former Real Madrid academy head coach Mariusz Misiura.
“This is a good move for us and we hope to better so that we can break into the top division of Chinese football. It is a young club founded in 2010 with great ambitions like us. We look forward to playing in the Chinese top division,” Sempiira revealed from his Guiyang City base. Football is rapidly growing in China and many big names in the sport featuring in the country’s top tier.
“It is not easy to penetrate Chinese football now. Clubs prefer home talent or players from Europe. It is a struggle which only means working hard,” added Sempira, who has featured in the country’s football for Colliers, Inter Heroes and Jianjie Bettiland.
Lukwiya who will be featuring in Asia for the first time believes that this is a good move for him and is hopeful he will take very little time to fit in.
