As the 2019 edition comes to an end this weekend, FUFA Women Football Development Officer Joan Namusisi believes that the timing of this year’s edition national finals ahead of the Girls U17 national team selection exercise was timely.

ā€œThe Airtel Rising Stars grand finals for the 2019 edition are timely. They have come at a time when we are scouting for the U17 Girls to make the national U17 team that will be used at the Cosafa U17 championship in Mauritius. I thank Airtel-Uganda, the teams, parents and FUFA for the collective effort of making this championship a complete success,ā€ Namusisi told Airtel Football.

This year’s national finals kicked off on Wednesday in Kampala at NEC Coffee grounds –Bugolobi and UCIT grounds-Nakawa. All the eight FUFA regions represented by a boy and girl’s team which makes a total number 16 teams participating.
