Kyambogo vs Bugema, Kyambogo
The Pepsi University football league returns this Wednesday afternoon with defending champions Kyambogo hosting Bugema University. This will be a repeat of last year’s semi final that Kyambogo won 3-0 on aggregate, having won 1-0 at home before completing a double with a 2-0 away victory.
In some of the semi final games played last week, St. Lawrence took control of their tie against YMCA with a 2-0 home victory on Friday at Kavule. Kasule Ibrahim scored in the 55th minute before Ssemukutu Farouk added the other in the 66th minute.
Earlier last Wednesday, former champions Makerere University business school (MUBS) settled for a barren home draw against another former champion Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) during the first leg of their semi final affair.
Both sides missed glorious chances which left much to be played for in the return leg. In other fixtures, Busitema University wiLl host Uganda Christian University (UCU) on Friday, 13th September at Busitema.
The two sides have never met at this level before but UCU have never lost to Busitema. The last meet at this year’s group stage saw UCU win both legs.
UCU have never gone past the quarter-final stage as they have lost in each of the last four seasons –two times to UMU and once to Kampala International University (KIU) and Kampala University (KU).
