Busoga United vs Onduparaka, Njeru
Maroons vs Bright Stars, Luzira
Wakiso Giants vs BUL, Wakiso
Mbarara City will be looking forward to better performance when they visit charged Vipers SC this Saturday in a live TV match at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende as the 2019/20 StarTimes Uganda premier league match day five concludes.
The 10thplaced Mbarara City have endured a bad run of results; drawing once and losing twice in the four games since their 3-0 emphatic home win at Proline in the season opening fixture.
The 10th placed Ankole Lions come off a 3-2 painful loss against Express FC at home and face the Venoms who have rested enough after reschedule of their fixtures against BUL and Onduparaka at home and away respectively.
The Venoms had more than three players on the national team that drew 1-1 against Kenya last weekend in the friendly. Vipers beat Mbarara City 5-3 in penalties during the preseason Pilsner super 8 semi final at Kitende after a 1-1 normal time draw.
The unbeaten hosts are 5th on log with maximum six points in two games and welcome back Ashraf Mugume from his season long loan spell at Police FC.
The midfielder graduated to senior side from the academy (St Mary’s SS, Kitende) in 2018 but only made two appearances against Mbarara City and Maroons before joining the Cops where he bagged three goals and five assists last season.
Shaban Mohammed, Innocent Wafula, Frank Tumwesigye and Karim Watambala returned to training for Vipers but the game comes early for them while Geoffrey Wasswa and Livingstone Mulondo are still on the sidelines.
Vipers opened the season with a 3-1 away win over bright Stars before a 1-0 home victory against Tooro United.
The three-time champions have beaten Mbarara City twice and drawn as many in the four previous league meetings and are favorite to be inspired by in-form Fahad Bayo to go past the Ankole Lions this weekend.
Bayo has scored thrice and assisted once in his four games for the Venoms this season. Farouk Musisi begins his two match suspension after being sent off against Tooro United.
Innocent Wafula resumed training after overcoming fever but maybe doubtful for this game.
Rashid Toha is fit and could make his Vipers debut against Mbarara City since joining from Onduparaka in July.
Henry Kitegenyi is out after picking a leg injury during a practice match midweek.
Aziz Kayondo returns to the team fold and will replace suspended Musisi at left back.
