Mbarara City FC, through their Facebook official club page, have confirmed veteran tactician Paul Nkata as their new head coach taking over from youthful Brian Ssenyondo who was serving in the same role on an interim basis.
Ssenyondo, who has guided the side to one win and two draws in the opening five premier league matches, will serve as the assistant.
“Paul Nkata will be the Head Coach of Mbarara City FC till the end of the Season,” the brief statement read.
The Ankole Lions are 10th on the 16-team log and Nkata, who returns to the Uganda Premier after a period close to two years, will be tasked to better performance starting with the immediate assignment against Busoga United at home on October 1.
Nkata resigned at URA FC towards the closing stages of the 2017/18 season after a poor run of results. He has previously coached at Tusker FC, Kakamega Homeboyz, Kira Young, SC Villa among others.
