Total CHAN 2020 Qualifiers:
2nd Round, 1st Leg
Saturday
Burundi vs Uganda Cranes, Bujumbura
Uganda Cranes interim head coach Abdallah Mubiru is buoyed by the commitment of his squad ahead of the 2020 CHAN Second round qualifier, first leg in Bujumbura this Saturday.
Mubiru named his 18-man squad that arrived in Bujumbura on Thursday aboard Kenya Airways and led by FUFA Executive Committee member Rogers Mulindwa as head of delegation.“The team is ready; everyone is prepared, determined and committed to giving positive best performance when we meet Burundi over the weekend. The belief and commitment of the players gives me confidence that we shall get positive results in Bujumbura because everyone in the team has been giving his all in training. The final traveling team was named after the final training session at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo which followed days of intense training that also had a friendly match with the Hippos on Tuesday that ended in a barren stalemate.
Mike Mutyaba is perhaps one of the attractions on the team as the attacker returns to the Cranes fold since March 2013 when he last featured in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
The stylish midfielder who returned to active football last season after joining KCCA is the most experienced player on the team.
