Former Vipers SC head coach Javier Martinez Espinoza has been confirmed as the new head coach at Rwanda Premier league champions Rayon Sport on a one-year renewable deal.

The Mexican has been on the side lines ever since he was fired by the three-time Uganda champions in December last year; just after five months into his two-year deal at Kitende.

Espinoza was replaced by Kenya’s Michael Ouma before the latter was also replaced by Edward Golola after the end of last season.

Espinoza replaces Brazilian Robert Oliveira Goncalves do Carmo ‘Robertinho’ at Rayon Sport who reportedly left after failure to agree on his remunerations with the club.

Robertinho guided Rayon Sports to the Rwandan Premier League championship last season and reached the quarter finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Rayon Sport who have won the Rwandan League on nine occasions, will open up their 2019-20 campaign against Gasogi United on October 5.
