CSCA taekwondo club emerged overall winners of the 2019 Korea Ambassador’s taekwondo Cup over the weekend at the Lugogo Arena Lugogo.
CSCA won the annual two-day event after collecting 11 Gold, 4 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals to claim the overall prize. CSCA claimed 8 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals in juniors’ category. They were overall winners in this category which is their main power house.
In seniors’ category, CSCA managed three gold, one silver and two bronze medals. The 2017 winners Lee Club were second with 7 Gold, 8 Silver and 12 Bronze medals in this seventh edition staging this tournament played in the junior and senior categories.
Last year’s overall winners Lango Club finished third 4 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals. Lee Club’s Ali Lubega and Tororo’s John Okwere were named best senior fighters while Aghakan’s Seanice Namukwaya and Lee Club’s Emmanuel Hahumi were named best junior fighters.
Ahmed Bamuwayira and Patrick Ekanya were named best referees. The event was attended by 15 clubs including CSCA, Lee, Lango, Tororo, Iganga, Oceanic, Pan African, Kole, Makerere, Oyam, Tiger Woods, Akalo, Light Academy and Aghakan.
South Korea Ambassador to Uganda Juang Hun Lee was Guest of Honor, who was in company of Uganda Taekwondo Federation president Hakim Kato and Executive Committee members.
