Uganda national U20 side (Hippos) got their first win of the ongoing CECAFA U20 championship with an emphatic 5-1 win over Djibouti at the Pece stadium, Gulu on Monday. Steven Sserwadda opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before Ivan Bogere netted his second of the tournament in the 42nd minute.
Sserwadda, on his first start, scored his second of the day in the 52nd minute before Kalid Osman pulled one back for Djibouti. Isma Mugulusi and Justine Opilo netted the other goals for the Morley Byekwaso side.

Uganda was coming off a disappointing 1-1 against Eritrea in the opening fixture on Saturday where Bogere scored Uganda’s goal.
Head coach Morley Byekwaso was seeking reaction in the second fixture and was happy the team reacted with five goals. In the other group game, Eritrea drew 3-3 with Sudan.
Uganda plays Sudan this Wednesday in their last Group A fixture while Djibouti will face Eritrea in the first game at Pece stadium.
Somalia will also take on South Sudan at the same day in group C at the FUFA technical center, Njeru.
