KCCA vs Petro de Luanda, Lugogo
Fee: Shs10k, 20k, 50k
KCCA FC manager Mike Mutebi expects an exciting high scoring game when his side takes on Petro de Luanda this Friday at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo in the CAF Champions League First Round, return leg.
KCCA picked a vital point in Luanda after holding the Angola side to a goalless draw in the First leg a fortnight ago.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference in Lugogo on Thursday, Mutebi admitted that their opponents played and used the ball better than them in Luanda.
“They used the ball better than us and with a purpose. They were penetrative and the difference was that for us we used to break and counter attacks which rendered us less numbers in the final third. They build the game from the back and we respected them in the First leg. But here at our ground, we are going all to attack and try to win the game but also stand cautious at the back. We shall see a goal-scoring affair but at the end of the day, we must win,” noted Mutebi, who earlier said that failure to get to the group stage will be treated as failure.
Petro de Luanda coach Toni Cosano is confident that his side can score at Lugogo to mount pressure on the hosts.
“We made a good game but KCCA made things complicated. They have a young squad but with big hearts and attitude. A goalless draw in Luanda was a positive result; if we can score in Kampala. We play the same game at home and away and we shall try to play to win. KCCA are assured of a minimum of Shs2bn ($55,000) should they come out of the tie as aggregate winners and storm the group stage.
Proline, the other Ugandan representatives will play AS Kigali in the First Round of the CAF Confederations Cup return leg at Lugogo this Saturday.
