Ethiopia vs Uganda, Bahrdar  (4pm)

Uganda is set to take on Ethiopia an international friendly at the Bahir Dar Stadium in Bahrdar town this Sunday.

The new Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry is seeking a winning start to the job he acquired last month on a three-year deal.

According to McKinstry, the game will help him assess foreign-based players ahead of the upcoming AFCON 2021 qualifiers in November. “‘We have held a couple of good sessions in Ethiopia since our arrival on Friday. The players are in the best shape and ready for a great display,” noted McKinstry, who is assisted by Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, Fred Kajoba (goalkeeping coach), McCarthy Alexander Michael (fitness coach), Emmanuel Nakabago (team Doctor) and Frank Bumpenje as the kits Manager. Only two players are locally based; Allan Kayiwa (Vipers SC) and Kirizestom Ntambi (Wakiso Giants).

The local-based players were left out due to the upcoming CHAN 2020 qualifier return leg at home against Burundi next weekend.  They will however be considered for the AFCON

qualifier next month, according to the Northern Ireland tactician.
