Over 200 players from 24 teams are taking part in the 2019 Coral coatings national woodball open at Muni University in Arua.
The two-day championship received a Shs35m sponsorship boost from Coral Coatings as headline sponsors for the fifth year running.
During the official opening on Saturday, Muni University Vice Chancellor Christine referred to hosting the sport in Arua as a blessing to the area with hopes of the community embracing the sport.
“We need our people to look at the sport, get interested and learn so that they can spread the game. By bring the national championship to Aura, it shows how the Uganda woodball federation wants to spread the game country-wide,” she said.
The two-day championship ends this Sunday –with winners set to get trophies, medals and cash prize.
