A total of 28 players out of the 35 summoned turned up for the Crested Cranes on the first training on Thursday as the senior women football side kicked off preparations for forthcoming CECAFA Championship due November 14-23 in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania.
The team started non-residential training at the Luzira Prisons playground and continued with the same programme on Friday morning at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo where 31 players turned up.
“We are hopeful players will improve and more emphasis is on ball work, combination and fitness levels. Our main aim in this Championship is to shine because we have a good squad,” noted Faridah Bulega, the Crested Cranes head coach.

The team will have a five-day non-residential training before heading to the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru for residential camp.
Training resumes on Monday after a two-day break for Fufa women super league 2019/20 season kickoff this weekend.
The team is captained by reigning Airtel-FUFA female player of the year 2018 Ruth Aturo.
