Cecafa Senior Women Challenge Cup

Group B

Tuesday results

Uganda 1-0 Ethiopia

Kenya 12- 0 Djibouti

Fauzia Najjemba scored the only goal as Uganda Crested Cranes beat Ethiopia 1-0 during a group B match of the 2019 CECAFAWomen Challenge cup at the Chamazi Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Tuesday.

The Kampala Queens forward scored in the 73rd minute of the tight duel –shooting from an acute angle after a brilliant run inside the box.

Najjemba pounced on the loose ball following a poor clearance by Ethiopian defense after Shadia Nankya’s initial long ball from Uganda’s defense.

Ethiopia gave everything as they looked for an equalizer but Uganda defended well as a team for their second consecutive win of the tournament after an opening 13-0 humbling of Djibouti on Sunday.

The Faridah Bulega side sealed the semi finals slot with a game to play as they take on Kenya this Thursday. Kenya humbled Djibouti 12-0 in the other group fixture.
