Cecafa Senior Women Challenge Cup 2019
Group B, Thursday results
Uganda 0-1 Tanzania
Kenya 5-0 Burundi
Uganda Crested Cranes will battle for third place against Burundi in the ongoing Cecafa Women challenge Cup on Sunday.
This is after Burundi was thumped by Kenya 5-0 in the earlier semi final before Uganda fell 1-0 to Tanzania at Azam complex, Tanzania later on the same day.
Kenya came to the semi finals as favorites after going through group B as leaders without conceding a goal and scoring whooping 17.
Uganda that came as runners up in group B, 3 points behind Kenya to whom they lost 1-0 in the last group game, conceded inside the last of the four added minutes.
Asha Saad Rashid finished off a cross from Omary Mwana Hamisi with goal keeper and Captain Ruth Aturo already beaten.
Uganda played quite well and the introduction of Aisha Namukisa for a slow Bridget Nabisalu was remarkable.
Uganda forced Tanzania to get into the break without scoring for the first time in the tournament.
