StarTimes Uganda premier league
Tuesday fixture
Proline vs KCCA, Lugogo (4:30pm)
The StarTimes Uganda premier league first round officially ends this Tuesday with two teams hosting from the same venue battling at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo. Bottom placed Proline have a chance to move up 14th place and replace Police FC on the 16-team log with victory over defending champions KCCA FC that are second with 29 points, 7 below leaders Vipers SC.
KCCA manager Mike Mutebi told the press on Monday that his side was playing at 45% and below the desired performance. “We are operating 5% less of our last season performance. We are operating at 45% but still better than many sides. We are going to bring some players from our development side to make the 18-man squad since we have injuries. Our main target is to accumulate points and even if we finish the first round second, we shall not be frustrated,’ noted Mutebi. He said that in Proline they face a tough team that has young and confident players who use the ball well. “The league is a marathon. No matter the position by first round, we still have games to play. Our main objective is to defend the league title,” he noted.
