The FUFA Drum defending champions Buganda province have filed in a petition after being ejected by resilient Bukedi on Tuesday following a 4-2 loss in the quarter finals at the Pece war memorial stadium, Gulu.
Ibra Nsimbe, skipper Fredson Gwoto, Benon Tahomera and second half substitute Isaac Kasujju were on target for Bukedi while Enock Walusimbi and second half substitute Paul Ssekulima scored Buganda’s consolation goals.
It was a sweet revenge for Bukedi, who were knocked out by Buganda last season at the semi finals 5-3 in penalties after a one-all stalemate. Wakiso Giants goal keeper Derrick Emukule was named Man of the match as his Bukedi joined Lango at the semi finals.

The quarter finals climax this Thursday with Bukedi, who are already at the semi finals, facing hosts Acholi at Pece War memorial stadium, Gulu while Buganda takes Tooro at the Akii Bua stadium, Lira with both games starting at 4pm.
Whereas Buganda is already out, Tooro has a chance of qualifying if they win by a big margin whilst Bukedi beats Acholi. Buganda and Tooro filed in a petition against Bukedi alleging that Yeseri Waibi featured for Busoga in the inaugural season last year which and cannot not change team as per the rules of the tournament.
Friday is a rest day before the semi finals on Saturday and Sunday. Next Monday is also a rest day prior to the final next Tuesday.
