2019 FUFA DRUM Tournament:

Acholi vs Bukedi, AkiiBua Stadium, Lira (4 PM)
Acholi and Bukedi will play in the 2019 FUFA Drum tournament final this Tuesday at the AkiiBua Stadium in Lira.
This followed Bukedi’s 1-0 win against hosts Lango at a fully packed AkiiBua stadium in the second semi final on Sunday. Ibra Nsimbe, a forward at FUFA big league outfit Myda, scored the all-important goal after just three minutes to silence the home crowd.
Man of the match goalkeeper Derrick Emukule, who also features at UPL side Wakiso Giants had match winning saves to keep inspire Bukedi to their maiden final. “We deserve to be in the finals. It has been down to team work right from the group stages to this far. The players are ready to lift the title come Tuesday,” Abbey Kikomeko Bogere, Bukedi head coach, who is also head coach at Busoga United disclosed.

On Saturday, Acholi had become the first province to qualify for the finals after edging Bugisu 1-0 in the semi-finals played at Pece War Memorial Stadium, Gulu. Vipers SC forward Tito Okello scored the match winner coming as early as the 8th minute.
A total of 32 goals were scored in 12 matches of the quarter finals played over 6 match days. The winner of the final that will be played on Tuesday, 10th December 2019 will take home Shs32m, gold medals and a glittering trophy.
The losing finalist will pocket Shs15m and each of the losing quarter finalists taking Shs5m. The third and fourth in group provinces shall part with Shs1.5m and Shs1m respectively.
The Most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament will bag Shs1m, top scorer (Shs1m), best goalkeeper (Shs1m) and Shs1m for each player on the tournament best XI. This second edition of the championship whose theme is “Celebrating Our Ancestry” is sponsored by Eagle Poa beer, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and National Insurance Corporation (NIC). Buganda is the reigning champion but could not go past quarter finals.
