The qualification round for the Guinness 5-aside Night Football Series grand finale ended a fortnight ago at Thatch Gardens in Mbale.
After three outings, ten teams qualified for the grand finale due December 12 at the MTN warehouse in Kampala.

The qualification round was played in six
weeks from three towns; Kampala (Central Region), Fort Portal (Western) and Mbale (Eastern) respectively and each outing was a qualifier to the final. During
the last qualifier, El Tanjia Junior beat their senior side El Tanjia 4-1 to qualify from Mbale over the weekend. With performances from Cindy and Fefe Bussie, Super 7 emerged winners in human foosball category.

Abasasi and UPU Stars had qualified from the Fort Portal town event but the issue of the overall winner who will play at the grand finale is still pending.

In Kampala, eight teams made it to the finals; Naguru United, C Club, Jabulani, Sona, Sound Boyz, Team 13, Socceroos and Winners FC. The top three teams from Kampala will qualify for the Pan African 5-aside football extravaganza slated for late December in Lagos, Nigeria with all expenses catered for by Guinness.

Uganda breweries limited (UBL) Brand Manager –Guinness, Cathy Twesigye is happy with the competition progress so far and the excitement it has brought to participants.
