Uganda U17 Girls team continued to their supremacy in the ongoing inaugural CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship taking place at the FUFA technical center, Njeru.
The Ayub Khalifa side thrashed Eritrea 10-0 on Friday to consolidate lead in the round robin tournament.
Skipper Juliet Nalukenge recorded her second Hat-trick of the tournament, Fauzia Najjemba grabbed a brace while Margret Kunuhira, Kevin Nakacwa, Stella Musubika and Catherine Nagadya added one each.
Najjemba opened the scoring with her 5th of the campaign in the 5th minute a 5th minute strike before Juliet doubled the lead in 13th minute.
Margret Kunuhira and Catherine Nagadya scored in the 15th and 22nd minutes respectively as the hosts went into the break with a 5-goal cushion.
“We watched Eritrea against Kenya and we planned accordingly,” noted Kalifah, who declared his intentions to win the title.
After three match-days, Uganda has scored 25 goals and yet to concede any as they enjoy the summit with nine points.
Nalukenge now tops scorers’ chart with eight goals, followed by Kenya’s Fassila Adhiambo with six while Najjemba has five. Uganda returns to the pitch on Sunday against Tanzania before playing Kenya next Tuesday.
In other match-day Results, Tanzania beat Kenya 3-1 to maintain their second position, while Burundi thrashed Djibouti 8-0 in the day opening game.
