CECAFA senior Challenge Cup organisers have doubled the entrance fares from Shs5000 to Shs10000 as Uganda Cranes returns to action against Djibouti this Sunday evening after Eritrea plays Somalia with both games hosted at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
Games involving Somalia and or Eritrea have brought many fans and it’s expected to be a big turn up when the two sides meet for a decider on who will join Uganda in the semis. Cranes who are already l through to semi-finals after three wins in as many games will be seeking to end the group stage on the high.
“Everyone knows we are through to the semi-finals but that does not necessitate complacency. We need decent results because like I said, we want the Cecafa Cup but we also prepare for the CHAN finals next year in Egypt. We need to use Cecafa as a yard stick,” noted Jonathan McKinstry, the Cranes head coach.
Uganda tops pool A with 9 points having defeated Somolia, Burundi and Eriteria with the total of six goals and conceded only twice.
