Out of over 2000 boxers that registered at Uganda boxing federation (UBF) offices, only 13 are being looked for to represent Uganda in the Olympics qualifiers due February next year in Senegal.
The weigh-in and medical checkup was done on Sunday at Lugogo and action started on Monday. UBF President Moses Muhangi, during the federation assembly last weekend, blamed National council of sports (NCS) and Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) for the delayed preparation of the Bombers team selection which will culminate into poor preparations ahead of the qualifiers.

UBF postponed the Intermediate championship that was due this month to create space for the Bombers preparations with the championship pushed to early next year.
After the week-long action that started on Monday, there will be none residential training camp on January 2-9 before the residential camp commences on January 14, 2020 after prior elimination event on January 11-12.
