FIFA U20 Women World Cup Qualifier

Tanzania vs Uganda, Lugogo
The National U20 Women side entered residential training at the FUFA technical center in Njeru on Friday as they kicked off preparations for the FIFA U20 Women World Cup Qualifier, first leg against Tanzania on 18th January 2020 in Dar es Salaam.
Oliva Mbekeka was on Wednesday appointed the interim head coach assisted by former Crested Cranes captain Christine Wanyana while Ibrahim Mugisha is the goalkeeping coach role and Mable Kabatalindwa as the Team Doctor.
The Uganda U17 Women team is also in camp preparing for a world cup qualifier against Ethiopia due this Saturday at Lugogo. A squad of 30 players was summoned to the U20 squad with most of the players in the squad having already featured for the Senior National Team (The Crested Cranes) and the U17 Girls Team.
This is the second time Uganda is taking part in the FIFA U20 Women World Cup qualifiers. The first appearance was in 2013 with a tremendous 22-0 aggregate win over South Sudan. Sandra Nabweteme and Hassifa Nassuna are the current active players in the Senior Team that played for the U20 team in 2013.
They both scored a hat trick in the return leg at Lugogo Stadium on 28th September.
