SC Villa striker Bashir Mutanda and defender Joseph Nsubuga are impressively fully recovering from injuries after a long injury setback. Mutanda, who was SC Villa’s top-scorer last season with 13 goals, last played for Jogoos in October.
Prior to the injury, the striker was struggling after his deal to join Botswana club Jwaneng Galaxy fell through. “I am very excited to get back. I visited the doctors who advised me to do exercises which will strengthen my pelvis then I start jogging slowly,” Mutanda told the Sports nation.

After the 2-0 loss away to URA in Ndejje as the StarTimes Uganda premier league kicked off, SC Villa Coach Edward Kaziba attributed the loss to his thin squad after some players could not feature due to lack of licensing.
In the same development, right back Joseph Nsubuga is also on recovery path and is poised to return in time before the current season ends.
Nsubuga did not kick a ball last season and is yet to play this season after an Achilles injury. SC Villa are 4th with 27 points in 16 games and will host Busoga United on January 14 in their 17th game.
