Ethiopia vs Uganda, Bahar Dar
The Uganda U17 Girls team coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi aims for victory at Ethiopia when the two sides meet in the return leg of the FIFA U-17 Women World Cup Qualifiers in Bahar Dar this Sunday.
Though a draw would be enough for the team to advance to the second round after a 2-0 home victory in the first leg, Ayub says that they are going to play for maximum points and everyone in the team looks forward to that.
“The weather is not much different from ours in Uganda and he players have adapted to it. Ethiopia are a good side that put up good challenge in the first leg in Kampala and we must not be complacent because we carry a 2-0 cushion into the return leg. They only lost concentration in the first half and when they gained it in the second half, they outplayed us,” noted Ayub.
“The team is ready to go and get that win from Ethiopia. I am pleased with the way the girls play; attacking with speed and defending as a unit among other things,” he added. The team that qualifies from this match will meet Tanzania who are already through after ejecting Burundi 6-1 on aggregate.
