Express FC have confirmed sacking of George Ssimwogerere as the Red Eagles Head coach with Richard Wasswa Bbosa named as his replacement. The sacking came after the side’s 1-0 loss to Mbarara City which turned out the Ankole Lions’ first victory on road.
“Coach George Ssimwogerere Leaves The Club. The coach and the club board have agreed to part ways on a mutual agreement. The club thanks the coach and his technical staff for the work done and wish them best in the future. Coach Richard Wasswa Bbosa shall henceforth take over as the Head Coach of Express FC. Welcome Coach Bbosa and the new technical team” read part of the statement signed by Club Board Secretary Ssuubi Kiwanuka.

Bbosa’s will be tasked to save the club from the looming relegation fears as they are just one point and position above the red zone with their next game being a hard trip to injured Onduparaka on Friday in Arua.
Ssimwogerere replaced Kefa Kisala in February last year and has been in charge of 33 league games winning 11, losing 15 and drawing the rest.
He also led the side to the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup were they face fellow premier league side Maroons. Bbosa will work with James Odoch and Samuel Kawalya as his assistant and goalkeeping coach respectively.
