Proline FC 1(5)-1(3) Admin FC
Stanbic Uganda Cup defending champions Proline FC needed a 3-1 penalty shootout victory to eliminate Tororo-based regional league side Admin FC’s after a 1-1 normal time draw in the round of 32 tie played at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.
Alele Walter scored headed home a late equalizer to cancel out Diego Hamis Kiiza’s opener to send the game into penalty shootouts. Alele, who scored against Police to reach this stage, however failed to convert his penalty after goalkeeper Hassan Matovu stretched to pull off a match winning save to send the Premier league side to the Round of 16.
Admin came into the tie strong having eliminated Super league side Police FC at the round of 64 and had their hopes restored when they scored inside the four minutes of added time after Alele headed home Vitus Obo’s long cross. The Holders had opened the scoring earlier in the game when Kiiza tapped in a Rodgers Mato cross from the right. Kiiza also had his header rattle the crossbar. Proline FC beat Katwe United at the previous round of 62.
