The 2020 Pepsi University league is set to kickoff this Wednesday with holders Uganda Christian University (UCU) hosting Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) in Mukono at 3pm. The Mukono based University won their first ever title after a 2-1 victory over St Lawrence University at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo in last year’s final.
Kampala International University (KIU) and Kumi are the other universities in group B. The 9th edition of the Pepsi-sponsored league was launched last week and the forthcoming season promises the best after the league expansion from 16 to 20 teams.

Muni university, Kabale University and University of Kisubi join the league while Mbarara University of science and technology makes a return. All the 20 teams are grouped into five with each group having four teams that will play on home and away basis.
The top team from each group progresses to the last eight where they will be joined by the three best losers.
The group stage will be played from February to May while the knockout is scheduled for August to November. There will be action throughout the week starting Wednesday.
