Free-agent Maweje rejoins former club Police FC

Uganda Premier League club Police FC unveiled former Uganda Cranes international Tonny Mawejje on Monday 6th, July, 2020

The midfielder signed a two year’s employment contract for the Abdallah Mubiru coached side.

Mawejje becomes the first signing for the Cops as they gear up for the upcoming season.

The experienced midfielder has been a free agent since parting ways with Qatar club AL Arabi Sports Club last year.

He now re-joins Police fc, a club he played for 14 years ago.

Mawejje has previously featured for Masaka Local Council FC, KCCA FC, Police FC and URA FC in Uganda.

He has also previously turned out for a number of clubs abroad. These include:, Golden Arrows (South Africa),IBV Vestmannaeyjar (Iceland), Throttur (Iceland), Haugesund (Norway), Valur (Iceland) KF Tirana (Albania) and AL-Arabi Sporting Club

His last appearance for the Uganda Cranes was during 2017 African Nations Cup finals held in Gabon.

Mawejje made 83 appearances in the National team colours, scoring 8 goals.
