Four security officers attached to local football governing body, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have completed a course in the Fundamentals of Crowd Safety, the Mengo-based federation confirmed on Tuesday.
“Congratulations to our CAF and FIFA trained security officers who have successfully completed a course in the Fundamentals of Crowd Safety,” FUFA said via a social media post.
The four individuals are; Dixon Okello, Humphrey Mandu, Jamil Ssewanyana and Sekabira Lukooya. The quartet will receive certificates after successfully passing through the exercise that was overseen by FUFA.
For Dixon Okello, alias ‘Dixon Bond,’ one of the most decoratedĀ security officers of the game and other events, this certificate is another addition to as many courses he has done in the same field.
Early this year, Okello was in Spain for another crowd management course. The training was about special crowd control that entails all the nitty-gritty of handling capacity crowds with the due expertise and professionalism.
Okello has worked at major tournaments at local, national and international levels as he has traveled to many corners of the globe for the same.
In Uganda, he (Okello) hasĀ trained over 500 stewards for the same job.
