Uganda Premier League outfit SC Villa on Thursday evening announced their first signing ahead of the 2020/2021 season in the shape of goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige from top tier relegated side Tooro United FC.

Kibirige is set to replace Samson Kirya who is reportedly bound to join Wakiso Giants, another premier league outfit.
Kibirige who will don jersey number 23 is delighted to be joining the record winners.

“I am so glad to be joining SC Villa. The decision to join this club was so easy and it is one of the decisions I have been waiting to make. SC Villa are the best team in Uganda according to the league titles,” Kibirige told the club’s media team.

Kibirige is now hoping to get a grasp of silverware with the team as the side seek to redclaim lost glory.

“I am a winner and I know we are going to win trophies here. I am glad to be a Joogo,” Kibirige added.

Among others, young gifted midfielder Geoffrey ‘Goffin’ Oyirwoth is also reported to be joining the club very soon.

Villa who finished third last season are anticipated to secure more signatures for some of the players are set to leave the team due to the expiring contracts and also on mutual consent.
