Over the weekend, Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC unveiled their seventh signing of the transfer window in the shape of Andrew Samson Kigozi during the 10th episode of the club’s TV show (KCCA FC TV).
The 22-year old midfielder who joined the club from Police FC was an addition to the club’s new signings following the earlier arrivals of Charles Lwanga, Ashraf Mugume, Stefano Mazengo Loro, Denis Iguma, Bright Anukani and Brian Aheebwa.
KCCA new signings include midfielders (Anukani, Mugume and Kigozi) albeit a couple of them already at the club. According to the club Coach Mike Mutebi, this move seems to be intentional but developmental for the team.
“All these players are at the same level. Competition among players will help them grow and also help the club win trophies,” Mutebi said.
There is no doubt that competition for playing positions and playing time is looming at the Lugogo-based side come next season.
However, for Kigozi, the right footed midfielder is aware of it and ready for the challenge.
“When joining KCCA I knew the kind of competition I was to face and I am ready for this,” a positive Kigozi confirmed to the club’s website.
“I am going to work hard and see that I fit in the manager’s plans,” Kigozi said.
However, Kigozi has welcomed the bound competition for positions with positivity and hopes that it will help build him and the entire team.
“KCCA has great players and is a great team so I already know of the competition I am bound to face at my new home but such challenges make great players. I am ready for this,” Kigozi roared.
Kigozi is also hoping to feature for the team even at Continental level as he seeks to get exposure and help the team achieve its goals.
