19 year old forward Gabriel Matata has rejoined Uganda Premier League side Onduparaka FC ahead of the 2020/2021 season, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
Matata comes back to the Arua City based side on a one-year renewable deal from regional league outfits Mvara Boys where he has been trading his mark since graduating from Onduparaka Youth team (Ondunyiri) in 2018.
According to Onduparaka FC website, Matata was the top scorer in the regional league in 2018/19 season before bagging 14 goals in 10 games in the 2019/20 season and guiding the Manya Boys to a round of 32 Uganda Cup finish, the club’s furthest journey in the competition after seeing off Uganda Premier League outfits Bul FC in the round of 64.
Matata becomes the seventh player to join Onduparaka in this transfer window after earlier arrivals of Bony Musema, Kennedy Atibuni, Augustine Akoch, Nelson Opio, Jasper Okello and Jakisa Jerry.
