The 13th Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) Annual General Assembly will take place on 17th, September 2020, Shafic Kigongo the General Secretary of UYFA has confirmed.
Makindye District Football Association will host the youth football delegates at Kenendia Hotel in Katwe, a Kampala suburb.
The last annual general assembly was hosted by Lubaga District Football Association at Gevine Hotel, Lubaga on Thursday 29th, August 2019.
This year’s meeting will focus on academy regulations. Recently, FUFA came up with academy regulations governing all the football academies in the country.
“There is a difference between registration and licensing. The mandate of UYFA is to register these academies allover the country. Having finished registration, the academy will seek for a license from FUFA, this license expires within two years,” Kigongo said.
In the previous annual meeting, nine new soccer academies were approved to join UYFA that is; Bright Valley Soccer Academy from Northern Region, Tanka Soccer Academy Matugga, Elite Soccer Academy Kampala, Nkumba Elite Soccer Academy, Buddo Soccer Academy, Model Star Soccer Academy Rubaga, Motherwel Soccer Academy and Msingi Soccer Academy.
Kigongo adds that academies that may not have fulfilled FUFA requirements for operation may get a provisional license from UYFA if they are in the right path.
“We shall endorse and recommend such academies for a FUFA license. Therefore I call upon all the academies to come for registration,” Kigongo added.
All the academics in Uganda will have to register again and later on be licensed by FUFA.
The issue of academy regulations was discussed in the 22nd FUFA Executive Committee meeting which was held in March this year.
According to FUFA, the five key areas in regard to academy regulations are; governance, sporting, personnel and administration, finance plus infrastructure and equipment.
