Left back Moses Kalanzi was one of the two players that were unveiled by Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC over the weekend. The other player unveiled was teenage midfielder Andrew Kawooya.
Kalanzi and Kawooya’s arrival implied that Mike Mutebi coached KCCA side had reached 11 signings in this transfer window. The other players signed are; Juma Balinya, Dominic Ayella, Mugume Ashraf, Lwanga Charles, Mazengo Stefano Loro, Iguma Dennis, Bright Anukani (loan), Brian Aheebwa and Kigozi Samson.
Kalanzi who is poised to replace departed Mustafa Kizza, who left the team over a month ago having sealed a deal to join USA MLS (Major League Soccer) side Montreal Impact has opened up about his move to KCCA as he seeks to be a ‘big addition’ to the side.
“I thank coach Mike (Mutebi) for giving me this opportunity and am looking forward to working with him because he is the best,” Kalanzi told KCCA FC TV.
“I have joined KCCA FC because their style of play fits mine and its one of the best clubs in the region. This is the best opportunity for me, I am ready to deliver 100%, ready for the challenge and I will lift the team from one step to another as we go out to win trophies,” Kalanzi added.
Kalanzi joins KCCA from Denmark outfit Jammerbugt. He also featured for Danish sides Aalborg and Hjorring.
