Uganda Premier League side Wakiso Giants FC have confirmed the signing of Lawrence Bukenya on a permanent deal from KCCA FC.
The central midfielder commits to the team on a three year deal having spent last season with the club on a season long loan from KCCA.
In the 2020/21 season, Bukenya featured in over 25 games in all competitions and scored in the 5-0 win over MYDA FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Bukenya has reflected on his previous season at the side and believes that a permanent switch is a good thing for both parties.
“I enjoyed my time here last season and am glad the move has been made permanent. I feel at home here and want to achieve a lot with this wonderful club at the moment,” Bukenya told the club website.
Bukenya is however grateful to his former club saying that; “I thank KCCA for the time I spent there and wish them all the best.”
Bukenya is a two time league winner with KCCA, also winning as many Uganda Cups and was named the MVP of the Uganda Cup in 2017.
Last month, midfielder Tom Masiko also joined Wakiso on a permanent contract from Vipers SC. Masiko featured for the Purple Sharks last season but on loan basis but completed a permanent move to the side, signing a three year contract.
