After finishing a five-day training camp in Dubai, UAE, Uganda Cranes contingent (26 in total) composed of players and officials retuned home on Tuesday.
All foreign players connected back to their original clubs save Allan Kateregga and TP Mazembe’s Joseph Ochaya who retuned with the local based charges. The pair connected to their original clubs on Tuesday evening.
According to FUFA website, Cranes gaffer Johnathan Mckinstry has heaped praise on his team for the efforts and hardwork put up while in Dubai and further urged them to keep working more harder if they are to be considered for the upcoming 2022 AFCON qualification double header against South Sudan in November with the squad expected to be summoned before end of this month.
“Overall, am very pleased with the camp we have just completed in Dubai, its been a very worthwhile experience,” Mckintsry told FUFA media.
“We have done a lot of good work not only on the field but in the classroom. And this is something you don’t often get to do international football (window) because it tends to be match after match where your focuss is on that opponent and not get much time to look at yourself on how to build for the long time,” Mckinstry added.
Uganda Cranes will host South Sudan on 12th November 2020 before traveling for the away match a few days later.
The Federation will release the detailed programme and updates relating to the two matches.
