Big League Promotional Playoffs: Coaches Speak Out Ahead Of Finals

Event: FUFA Big League Promotional Playoffs – Finals

Date: Wednesday, 21st October 2020, @12 PM

Venue: FUFA Technical Center, Njeru

Kitara FC and Kiboga Young will face off this Wednesday (today), 21st October 2020 in the final of the FUFA Big League Promotional Playoffs at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru. The winner of this match will qualify for the Uganda Premier League (UPL) 2020/21 season.

To reach the final, Kitara beat Kataka FC 7-6 on penalties during the Monday semifinal. In the other match, Kiboga Young recovered from one goal down to beat Ndejje University 3-1.

Ahead of the much anticipated final, coaches of both teams have spoken out and are both confident that they will clinch the only remaining (16th) slot in the Uganda Premier League.

‘We are not leaving anything to chance. Football is maracado. It is termed the beautiful game of hard work. We have worked hard and ready to qualify for the StarTimes Uganda Premier League’ Richard Makumbi, head coach at Kiboga Young told FUFA media.

Kitara FC tactician Mark Twinamatisko is also buoyed for the do in all spheres.
‘Kitara Football Club is ready to meet Kiboga Young in the final. We are physically ready with no injuries and mentally strong’ Twinamatisko said.

Key players to watch:

Big League top scorer from the regular season, Brian Muluuli Mayanja of Kitara is one of the players to key watch of all.

Others are captain Maxwell Owachgui, goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba, creative midfielder Jamil Nvule Kisitu, the ‘age-less’ defender Musa Docca and striker George Senkaaba.

The Kiboga Young star players are goalkeeper Steven Mukomba, captain Jamadlin Buchochera, their top scorer Luka Okori, Pascal Irasa, Brian Olega and Gody Otika among others.

Meanwhile, FUFA has confirmed the match officials who will officiate this eagerly awaited final of the promotional FUFA Big League play-offs.

The game will kick off by 12 pm and will be streamlined live on FUFA TV and across all the FUFA official social media platforms.
