The Royal Varsani Bucks have maintained their perfect streak in the inaugural Elite T20 League with a third win on day two (Monday) against Mamba Challengers at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Bucks claimed a double against Challengers in the first game of day two off a 7 wickets win (108/3 against 107/5) in an event played without fans as a Covid-19 preventive measure.
Just like in the opening game when his side beat Mamba by 4 wickets (113/7 against 107/9), in day two against Mamba, Siraje Nsubuga again claimed man of the match honors after posting 3 wickets for 10 runs in 4 overs.
However, Mamba are now winless in three outings after falling prey to Aziz Damani Scorpions in the second game of day two with the boys in yellow getting off the mark in their second attempt.
Scorpions won by 5 wickets (106/5 against 105/6 ) to make up for the first day painful loss that was decided via Duckworth Lewis Stern Method after bad light stopped play.
Scorpions’ Lawrence Ssempijja scooped man of the match honors off 2 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs & 6 runs not out off 11 balls.
Action continues this Tuesday in Lugogo. The event is played on round robin format with the top two teams from the three franchise sides qualifying for the Saturday afternoon final.
