The inaugural Elite T20 League Cricket Tournament bowled off on Sunday, 25th November 2020 at Lugogo Cricket Oval. The three-franchise-team event that will be played in a period of seven days saw Royal Varsani Bucks emerge the only winners of the day after coming good in both the morning and afternoon match.
In the opening game of the league, Bucks beat Mamba Challengers by 4 wickets (113/7 against 107/9).
Bucks’ Siraje Nsubuga claimed man of the match of honors in the first game after posting 4 wickets for 9 runs in 4 overs.
In game two, Aziz Damani Scorpions who were tipped to shoot down a ‘tired’ Bucks side also fell prey to the latter. Bucks won by 8 runs via Duckworth Lewis Stern Method after bad light stopped play.
In their innings, Scorpions posted 131/5 with Wasim Butt posting 88 runs not out off 77 balls.
Bucks managed 85/2 but were ‘saved’ by bad light that was worsened by cloudy weather.
Bucks will seek a double against Mamba when they meet on Monday morning.
However, having been frustrated by poor lighting last time out, Scorpions will seek to get off the mark on Monday afternoon when they come up against Mamba on Monday afternoon.
