Aziz Damani Scorpions have made it to the final of the Elite T20 League after winning their fourth game of the outing on day four (Wednesday) at Lugogo Cricket Oval. Scorpions beat Royal Varsani Bucks by 23 runs: 108/4 (20 overs) against 104/5 (15.3 overs) to book one of the two slots in the final slated for Saturday afternoon.
The result was determined via DLS
(Duckworth and Lewis and Stern) method as the match was reduced to 15.3 overs and target set at 81 runs due to rain delay.
Against Bucks, Scorpions’ Suleman Sharif claimed man of the match honors after posting 59 off 37; 3 fours & 5 sixes.
The remaining slot for the final will be filled by either Bucks or Mamba Challengers but odds are on the former.
The second game between Bucks and Mamba was abandoned with no ball being bowled. There was no result hence each team got one point.
Scorpions still lead the three franchise-team table with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.901 and eight points.
Bucks are second with an NRR of -0.466 and seven points. Mamba are last with an NRR of -0.439 and one point.
