Local female artist Sheebah Karungi has donated 1500 packs of Holic sanitary pads to the Uganda U-17 National women football team.
This was done at a function held on Thursday evening shortly after the team’s training session at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
Holic pads is Sheebah’s own brand and her CSR (Community Social Responsibility) gesture has been greeted with cheers by the beneficiaries of the initiative.
At the event, FUFA was represented by Executive Committee Member Ronnie Kalema and Marketing Director Esther Musoke.
While addressing the media, FUFA Executive Member Kalema who represented the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo expressed his delight over Sheebah’s gesture.
‘I take this opportunity to send you greetings from FUFA and assure you that we are cordially grateful to the Management of Sheebah Establishments who manufacture Holic Pads. Thank you Sheebah Karungi for giving FUFA and back to the women national team that is just 180 minutes to make it to the U17 FIFA World Cup. It is a great CSR activity to FUFA.
You can see how excited these young girls are. This gesture will make a huge difference in their lives.  FUFA is grateful to associate with people like Sheebah’ Kalema told FUFA website.
Sheebah could not hide her excitement meeting the Women National team.
‘Praise God. I am so proud of you. I come from a back ground where i started working at 14 years. So I am so proud of you that you are young women but going to do something big for your selves and the country. You do not know how great you are already. Keep pushing and I know you are going to make it but first things first I want you to be confortable and that is why we decided to extend this gesture to you’ Sheebah said.
Sheebah added;
‘We have come to give you Holic Pads and also offer you something beautiful which will make you comfortable when playing on the pitch and beating Cameroon. I do not want you to wake up in the morning with a lot of discomfort because of the menstrual times. We want you to feel comfortable and do what you do best so regardless whether you are in your red zone or not. We want you to win because you are destined for greatness’
Team skipper Juliet Nalukenge also put up a vote of thanks to Sheebah on behalf of her teammates.
‘We are proud of you and thank you for believing in us. We want you to know that we love you and thank you for visiting us and carrying this package to the team’
The players later had a moment to dance with Sheebah on her famaous collabo with Crysto Panda, a tune called Kyoyina omanya.
The U17 women team will negotiate a two legged clash with Cameroon at new dates to be confirmed by CAF. FUFA will now give the team a break this weekend until when new schedules for the remaining matches are communicated.
Brief About Holic pads
Holic Pads are a unique product that is meant to help the ladies to undergo their menstrual cycle without having to worry about anything bad happening to them.
They are 100% safe for your long night rest. They are created with love by medical professionals from Sheebah Establishments Ltd.
Away from the quality of the brand, the pads are also fairly priced. Each pack is priced at Shs. 4000 and comes with 10 pads and 2 panty-liners. This favours women and young ladies who are either in school or cannot afford other brands on the market that are more expensive. According to a study done in 2019, 86% of girls in Uganda miss school because of menstruation.
