Entebbe Golf Club have released a provisional activity calendar for the remainder of the 2020 golf season.

Entebbe, just like other clubs had their initial activity calendars disrupted when sports was put on a halt way back in March as a COVID-19 preventive measure following a pandemic scare then.

However, with open air sports activities being reinstated in September, golf was the quickest discipline to swing back into action though with social-like events, but with competitions slowly cropping up under the ‘new normal’ characterized with tight guidelines meant to curb the spread of COVID-19.

However, with the aim to cap the year just like in their ‘good old days,’ Entebbe Club have released schedule for events that will run till the new year Eve.

According to the calendar, the Singleton Match Play Challenge tournament resumed on Friday, 6th November with Round Four of action. Singleton Match Play will be played consecutively at the club’s par-71 course and will wind down on 19th December in a massive grand finale event.

On Saturday, 7th November, the club will host the EC Singles Match Play KO (Knock Out) Round Three
On Saturday, 14th November, the club will hold “Ladies Option” Tee Box Fundraiser / EC Singles Match Play KO Round Four.

On Saturday, 28th November, the club will hold its Monthly Mug that will also double as EC Singles Match Play KO Round Five tournament.

For December, the Rotary Golf Day tournament will tee-off proceedings on Saturday, 5th December and on Saturday, 12th December, the End of Year Ladies Day tournament will be played.

On Saturday, 19th December, the club will hold its Monthly Mug that will also double as the finals of the EC Singles Match Play.

On New Year’s Eve (31st December 2020), the club will host  End of Year Golf Classic, an event that will cap the year that saw sport at some point put on a halt due to COVID-19.

However, some changes might be implemented to the calendar but most events will be played on the stated dates.

“There might be some changes with the dates of some events,” Entebbe Club Lady Captain Ritah Akot Apell said.
The events will be played in accordance with NCS and MoH Health Guidelines in regard to the COVID-19.
