CECAFA U20 Challenge Cup 2020: Uganda Hold S. Sudan To Goalless Draw

Uganda U-20 national men’s team alias Hippos held thier South Sudan counterparts to a 0-0 draw during their opening match of the CECAFA U20 Challenge Cup 2020 played at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium, Arusha on Monday.

The tournament as doubles as the AFCON U-20 Zonal Qualifiers with the Arusha winners set to qualify for the event.

Uganda completed the game with a man down after defender Musa Ramathan received matching orders in the 35th minute of play.

Both sides fired blanks though Uganda’s Richard Basangwa came close in the 10th minute.

Ivan Asaba, Bobosi Byaruhanga and second half substitute Ivan Bogere also had unsuccessful attempts on target.

Uganda will return to action on Wednesday, 25th November when they take on Burundi, a match they should win to increase their credentials for qualifying for AFCON.
