Uganda 3-1 Kenya
Uganda men’s U-20 national team, Hippos have qualified for the AFCON U-20 Tournament after beating Kenya 3-1 during the Semi-finals of the CECAFA U-20 Challenge Cup held on Monday at the Black Rhino Academy sports stadium in Karatu, Tanzania.
The Tanzania event doubled as a CECAFA U-20 Challenge Cup and an AFCON U-20 Qualifier with the finalists from this event making it to the AFCON U-20 finals due in Mauritania.
Hosts Tanzania play South Sudan in the second semi-final clash on Monday evening.
Against Kenya, Uganda striker Ivan Bogere scored twice, including a kick from the penalty mark to compliment defender Kenneth Semakula’s opener.
Enock Wanyama scored a late consolation for Kenya inside the goal area.
Uganda seals the berth to the AFCON finals and will compete with either Tanzania or South Sudan for the CECAFA U-20 Challenge Cup trophy.
